Jacinta and the Jacaranda Trees

$18.00 +P&H

Join six-year-old Jacinta, a spirited Asian Australian girl, on an enchanting adventure amidst the vibrant blooms of Jacaranda trees. During the magical Jacaranda season, Jacinta and her friends gather at the park, embarking on a playful journey filled with laughter, friendship, and the wonder of childhood. They revel in the rich mythology surrounding Jacaranda trees, believing that a flower falling on their heads brings good luck.

As the sun sets and shadows deepen, their whimsical wishes take a turn, igniting their imaginations and stirring fears of the dark. Faced with daunting thoughts of lurking monsters, the children must confront their fears and discover the power of friendship and courage.

“Jacinta and the Jacaranda Trees” beautifully represents Australia’s multicultural fabric, encouraging children to embrace diversity and learn about different traditions. The story inspires young readers to explore their imaginations, fostering creativity and critical thinking while navigating the line between reality and fantasy.

Through Jacinta’s journey, children learn valuable lessons about friendship, overcoming fears, and the importance of support from loved ones. This delightful tale resonates with children and adults alike, making it a perfect addition to any classroom or home library, and an invitation to explore the beauty of childhood adventures.

Since 2021 I’ve been illustrating children’s books for Library for All, a not-for-profit international entity of Save The Children Australia.

Their focus is on developing and delivering innovative ed-tech software and hardware, alongside multi-lingual publishing,

to ensure young children gain strong literacy and numeracy skills and teachers have the tools and resources to support their work.

Ned’s Threads Costume and Fashion Design.

With a rich history in costume design, I have had the pleasure of working on a diverse range of projects that showcase my creativity and craftsmanship. My experience includes the creation of life-size mascots, such as Godzilla, and other specialized projects such as manufacturing dinosaur tails and re-creating Bob Hawke’s iconic Australia II jacket for the West Australian Museum. Additionally, I toured the UK and Ireland as part of the So High SoHo, Lost Vagueness Festival Team from 2005 to 2006, where our costume team played a crucial role in dressing festival-goers for this unique event within the Glastonbury Festival, Lost Vagueness Festival, The Big Chill and Electric Picnic. Parallel to my costume work, I have also launched my own clothing label, focusing on bespoke designs tailored for specific occasions. This venture allows me to bring personalized fashion to life, ensuring that each piece reflects the individuality and style of my clients.

I like to communicate a lot before I start a project to be crystal clear on the steps involved and I need plenty of notice in order to get you your product in time.
